Ally & Jess

Ally & Jess

Ever wonder how our studios magically get restocked? Who receives all those orders or who that friendly face is at our pop-up shop? This month we are pleased to shine a light on two of our very own! We would like to introduce you to Ally and Jess this month!

Ally and Jess along with our founder Stephanie are the babes behind Sweat Society. We chatted with them about what they do and how they stay active.

JESS

1. What do you do at Sweat Society?

I am a sales rep for Sweat Society. I help out with Pop up shops and flipping the product at studios. I love all the product, so it is always fun chatting about Sweat Society with people.

2. What do you do when you're not working for Sweat society?

When I'm not working for Sweat Society, I'm usually at West Elm planning fun displays for the store or styling sofas.

3. What do you go to get active?

To get active, I go to CrossFit Above All 4-5 days a week. And try to get out hiking on any days off :) if it's summertime, you can find me on my paddle board.

4. A little about yourself, maybe a fun fact:

I am originally from Ontario. And I am a horrible driver. Don't get into a car with me.

5. What upcoming Sweat Society events can we find you at?

You can find me at the Fraser Valley throw down CrossFit comp in Abbotsford Oct 27th-29th.

ALLY

1. What do you do at Sweat Society?

I do a variety of things at Sweat Society! My official title is the Retail Manager. You can find me at a lot of our pop-ups and events in Calgary and Edmonton. I can also be found hanging around the studio's we partner with to stock and flip inventory. I manage the retail in close to 20 studios across Canada! For local customers, I deliver their orders right to their door, and I pack and send orders for any of our out-of-city customers. I also receive all Sweat Society inventory we get from the brands we work with and work with Steph to make sure the website is up to date and running smoothly. My days are always different, which is my favorite thing about working at Sweat Society!

2. What do you do when you're not working for Sweat Society?

When I'm not working, you can probably find me working out at my favourite local CrossFit box - CrossFit Above All. On the days I get a chance to escape the city, I like to head to the mountains for a hike in the summer or snowboarding in the winter. One of my fav hikes from this summer was definitely Tent Ridge - if you haven't checked it out you NEED to!

3. What do you go to get active?

I dabble in Crossfit and Olympic Weightlifting. Also, anything that lets me get outdoors - hiking, snowboarding, biking, etc. I also love and probably need to do more YOGA.

4. A little about yourself, maybe a fun fact:

In university, I caught the travel bug and traveled for almost 5 years and to 50 countries. Parts of my university education were taken in England, Mexico & online while backpacking Australia. I managed to transfer it all and get a degree in Sociology from the University of Calgary. Because jobs in that field are hard to come by, I just kept on traveling up until a couple of years ago. My three favourite countries would have to be Nicaragua, Morocco & Myanmar.

5. What upcoming Sweat Society events can we find you at?

Coming up this month I'm going to be at the Big Rock Rumble CrossFit Competition at Natural High CrossFit in Okotoks. I'm also super excited to be popping up with Sweat Society to the Dailey Method, a barre studio here in Calgary. You can check out the complete pop-up schedule online at https://www.sweatsociety.ca/pages/schedule
